Mother, writer, doodler, explorer of dimensions, mental health advocate, model.
I’m certified as a mental health peer specialist, and as a group facilitator for both “Hearing Voices” and “Alternatives to Suicide.”
Recently I’ve completed my memoir, focused on my experiences in the psychiatric system, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Born in Belgium in 1973 – grew up between there and Berkeley.
In the mid 90’s I moved to San Francisco and since 2021 I’ve been living In Valencia, Spain.
Between 1998 and 2021 I was involuntarily hospitalized, restrained and medicated dozens of times.
The Covid pandemic’s social distancing mandates gave me a unique opportunity for self-discovery, unhindered by weekly visits with case managers and psychiatrists. It’s then that I uncovered the roots of my struggles as well as what empowers me.
My main priority is and has been for their entire life, my now young adult child, whom I adore with all my heart and soul.
